Europe Bound

Someone pinch me, we are at the airport waiting to board flight to Copenhagen. The lens is good. (Hope our bags get there with us)

Empty Apartment

The day has come. The boys helped us move and we say goodbye to Dominion. I'll miss this place. Bocce ball, pool days, grilling, rock band, morning runs, the red wall. It was a beautiful year. Europe I can smell you, your so close. Suitcases almost packed. One month Honeymoon here we come! We are ready for our new adventure.

last days at Riata

Sadie's last days sleeping in this room.
Watching the world cup when we should be packing.

Dance party at beauty bar when we should be resting for the moving day. Let's just skip the packing and head straight to the airport-- no?

Reminder...

I am a big dork

I am different

and at peace with it

These thoughts stemmed out of comparing my life to others. This is a reminder to myself.  I am not a strand of pearls: white, round or perfect-- and I love it this way.  I am humbled by the people, love, and happiness surrounding me. I am me.

Europe: 6 days and 3 hours
peace.

The countdown begins...

Until our last run down this path. Sadie's last potty break on this trail.  We're all packed up and leaving on a jet plane, "don't know if we'll be back again..."

Copenhagen and Europa see you in  3 hours & 7 days!

Happy days

Lovely summer day. Dogs will be dogs. Boys will be boys. Girls will be girls. Perfect day in the sun. Happy fathers day to Kevin.

My childhood did not include this type of celebration. A father was never in any sort of picture. Life evolves and we make the life we want and need.

Shindig

Good times at the summer shindig last night. I was eaten alive by bugs. Bands played. We ate cheese, danced. Oh yea-- someone stoled my shirt. Yup, I managed to leave the party without the shirt on my back. What kind of a party was this?!

Girls day

A day in the sun (with loads of sunblock of course) and time by the pool is amazing. Today I caught up on some mindless reading. I chuckled out loud twice while reading Chelsea. Some parts are a bit disturbing, but I like uninhibited humor. A mini photo-shoot. Good times!

Laker Haters. Boo ya!

This is why Artest thanked his psychologist in his interview. "She keeps him calm." Classic statement!
Lakeshow was sweet.

Sunshine

104 degrees. Sun in the face. Whole foods chicken salad sandwich in my belly. Sadie playing in the water. Ma enjoying her last few hours in Texas. Bitter Sweet.

abandoned

Empty building by the train station. I had a field day shooting away.

self portrait-2

The train is coming. Mother is leaving. I am taking pictures. I am sweating. Its 104 degrees out. I need a diet soda-- wait, I hate soda.

the fountain

Really, she's just too cute and I can't help but take one thousand pictures of her. Its hot. She's thirsty. She plays with water.

Dear Ma

Today was your last day in Austin. Your off on a train to LA. I will miss you. It was amazing having you here. Soon you will be with us everyday (I hope.) Thank you for all the good things you did for us. Matt & Sadie miss you too. I love you!

Taking pictures of random angles of my body is fun.

pollen

After taking this moment, I ran home from mosquito attacks. I counted 18 bites on my legs. Not such a pretty picture.

Carolina Herrera... I miss you

Seriously-- can anyone have a "white dress ball" I am having withdrawals and want to feel the soft supple Herrera next to my skin. It's getting a little pathetic wearing it while I clean the house...

Hotel St. Cecilia

Hotel Saint Cecilia. This place has a reputable image here in Austin. They have amazingly comfortable beds.

Picnic with Ma and Sadie. Life is good.

Another day...

Nothing like a stop at the police station to start off the day.

Rock on Ma!

Life is a Circus

sometimes life feels like a circus!

Thrifty?

My dog ate my mother's shoes this weekend. She tends to find the most comfortable pair and has a field day on the leather- Its good for her teeth I am sure! I learned my lesson in a similar tragic episode of Sadie vs. Manolo Blahniks.
So now, Ma and I are on a hunt to replace her shoes. We went to 3 different thrift stores because Ma just loves her some thrift store shopping...

Ma couldn't find the "right shoes" but I splurged and found these cute tan wedges for a wopping $7.57!
If I was really thrifty, I would of left them on the rack- but nobody's perfect!

I did manage to leave this porcelain beauty behind. I am thinking of going back for it. I am sure someone's birthday is around the corner!

Summer time...

With 3 months of summer vacation, and nothing to do but play with my dog and drink booze, I've decided to take on the blogging world and share my cleaver and witty thoughts with my fellow friends. You be the judge as to whether these thoughts are true wit or simply the tequila talking!

Sadie

I am like obssessed with this dog! “Sadie loo”

Wedding- What?

So, the most exciting thing that happened this year was my wedding. Yea for weddings!

This is actually a new changed attitude towards weddings. I used to be a wedding hater and loathed  couples who were “married” and only did “married” things- such as: spending Saturday mornings at the Home-Depot and Williams-Sonoma coordinating their new bathroom colors.  However- as a recent newlywed, I salute those in love and willing to make a commitment to their lobsters!

But can we talk about why nobody mentions the extreme nerves and temporary insanity that takes over your body 10 minutes before going down the isle? It wasn’t nerves because I was committing myself to one man for the rest of my life… It was the thought of falling on my face in 6’ heels in front of my closest friends and family! Needless to say, I had some liquid courage, that didn’t necessarily take away the nerves-but added loads of tears!
