Borrowing a Lens

I recently borrowed a lens from borrowlenses.com

I have to give them great credit as my product arrived on time and work to perfection. As I am a "hopeless" photographer but deeply want to perfect my skill, I want to use better equipment. I am thinking of renting the 

Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8G AF-S ED

I know this will be complete and utter torture for me since my day job or photographing career wont allow me to purchase a $1700 lens yet. A girl can dream right?!
