What's Your Poison?

What will you be drinking this NYE? I'd like to say I will stick to one type of one drink tonight, but record shows- the more the merrier! I will however, enjoy a few Elderflower Champagne Cocktails.
I was first introduced to this drink at the Paggi House where they call it a French 76. Both are deliciously refreshing and use the secret ingredient St. Germain! Since our NYE Austin weather is at a perfect 78 degrees, this cocktail will hit the spot. Cheers and Happy 2012.
See ya next year!

The End of 2011

The anticipation of new years eve is amazingly annoying! You always plan on the perfect night.  Why someone always ends up fighting or lost is beyond me?

The end of 2011 has come and it was a great year. Thank you to my family, husband, and friends who have loved me through this roller coaster ride called life.

She's Crafty: Winter White Wreath

The world of Pinterest simply inspires me to be crafty and creative. How cute is this DIY coffee filter wreath? It did take a couple of hours (and a few glasses of wine) to fully complete, so brace yourself.  I am so proud of it hanging on my door! See full instructions on how to here. Littlemissmomma has some cute ideas and also inspires me to keep posting, even if it is just for me!

Sadie, however was not too impressed!

Just a little Sparkle

It's that time of year again and when my dog hates me because I abuse her for her cuteness!
Happy Holidays :)

Be Grateful

This thanksgiving I've had to reevaluate the important things in life. Be thankful for the health and life we have. Be thankful for the family and loved ones close to your heart. In a split second life can disappear. Cherish the moments you have. Laugh, love and live until it hurts. Enjoy this earth and the people surrounding you for what they are. No judgements. Let go of the negative energies holding you back from laughing and enjoying this life we live.

EAST 2011

EAST is always the best place for people watching and to be inspired by the artist and their work. It is specially interesting when you go to the same studio two years in a row and see the changes an artist produces in their work. I didn't get an opportunity to see many works this year. I was however, inspired by the lighting and the beautiful weather!
I was in love with this corner. The lighting, the colors were captivating.

If you see the Cool House truck, stop it! It is the most delicious ice cream sandwich ever!

Fun Fun Fun Fest 2011

This was my first year attending FFF fest, and I am so glad I did. It was exhausting but well worth the trip. The crowds were less overwhelming than ACL, and I discovered some great bands I sure will be listening to all day! Oh yea, getting to see Ryan Gossling strolling around in all his glory was pretty amazing!
Here is a list of what will be playing in my car this fall:
Tune Yards
Major Lazer
We Were Promised JetPacks
Architecture in Helsinki
Neon Indian

Enjoy the beats!

Happy Halloween!

Except for the lips, make up lasted all night. I used theatrical water based make up which felt natural on the face.

October 23, 2011

So, when I am not making things for my students, I am now researching new educational things to make via  I seriously spend way too much time online dreaming over things I could make or buy for my house/closet/classroom/camera. My creative juices have not been flowing lately to blog about my own personal boringness, so it has become a lot easier to just see what others are doing. I simply pin it on my board. It is my virtual vision board and I want to eat/make/take/do everything I see.
If you have not joined this site, please do and good luck seeing your family!

Fashion Dozing It Up

It has been uber hard for me to get with the blogging cycle! But when I do,  I tend to follow the usual blogs. Today I perused missmoss and came across this cool collage she created:

Love the color in Carven Spring 2012 collection. Fall hasn't even hit Austin yet and here comes Spring, but those outfits paired with some tights and booties could be so, fall! And the print shoes with bells on, can you say my name?

Surfrider: One Foot At A Time

Surfrider & Cliff Bar created the event One Foot At A Time to celebrate Raptoberfest. We strolled our neighborhood streets and gathered trash to make art! Here's what we came up with. How have you reduced your carbon footprint lately?

Yet Another Beach Cleanup in Port A

My husband, the Surfrider advocate, dragged me along to another weekend in the windy Island of Port A. To get grounded with our nature roots, we camped yet again! It's not that I hate nature or camping, I just love a bed and the protection of walls. Our second night at camp we were lucky to experience 40 mph winds. Our tent flapped and shaked like Christina Aguilera in her prime years! To top it off, the flapping sound of plastic gave Sadie extreme anxiety. She stood on all fours the entire night!

I did however, survive and I still love the beach. Minus the night spent in a vietnam wind zone, I had a lovely time watching the sunrise and exfoliating my skin on the sandy beach! Next time I demand a real bed and bathroom!
